I have taken Terri’s yin yoga class. I love the pace of yin because I have an inflammatory disease and double hip replacements; yin is a more deliberate and intentional workout for my body. Terri leads the class in a calming way, providing verbal cues about breathing as well as alternatives and modifications for poses I would not otherwise be able to do. Living in Springfield, I was able to take the class by using Zoom while in the comfort of my own home. I have taken yoga at a number of studios and Terri’s classes are reasonably priced. I would highly recommend her and her yoga studio.
I have attended 2 intuitive painting workshops by illume Expressive Arts. The company name is perfect because expression is what it’s all about. I was intrigued by the concept, because I’m not an artist. The workshop is a safe place to express my feelings and emotions in my own way, creatively, with no judgement. From anyone. Whatever is going through my head can come out on the paper, however I choose. Me. My innermost thoughts, problems I’m working through, or just life. The process is quite therapeutic and freeing. Terri, the facilitator, asked a few questions about my paintings, generating more depth of thought as I continued to paint. I highly recommend these workshops!!
Terri is a passionate, strong and creative leader. She patiently listens and nurtures you so that you can try things you never imagined you could do. I have never felt so understood about my adoption story as I did sharing with her. She is an amazing gift to anyone who has the privilege to know her.
Dear Terri, Wow! I so loved taking your expressive arts classes. You made me feel so safe in exploring new areas for me, such as improvisation, how fun! I loved your intuitive painting class as well. Your deep presence and caring helped me so much in my own process.
Thank you. love, Beth Breedlove
Terri creates a very safe environment where you can be free to explore what’s inside. Her creative exercises are full of meaningful experience. I love her calm presence and gentle manner.
Your workshop was so much fun! I usually hate improv, but you made it fun, safe, and community- building. Your willingness to be part of the silliness was very powerful. I was deeply touched; at the same time, I can’t remember the last time I laughed that hard. Your presence in the studio was calm, steady and created real safety. Anyone “studying” with you is sure to benefit.
Your teaching style is full of wisdom and depth and play. Lots and lots of play. In fact, your secret weapon is humor and you use it to make difficult subjects approachable. You are a tigress: protective and fierce in your passion for teaching and of your students. You’re also an angel, it’s a pure delight to be in your presence.
